LEBENSLAUF TEMPLATE
German CV template you can fill in now
This page is for starting a German-style CV when you already know the basics and want a workable layout. If you need detailed rules about photos, CEFR language levels or Anschreiben pairing, read our Lebenslauf guide first — then come back here to build the document.
Template intent vs. the full Lebenslauf guide
The Lebenslauf guide on Eventiors explains what German employers commonly expect: reverse chronology, sensible personal details and precise language levels. This page focuses on action — picking a template and filling in sections you can send today.
That split keeps each page useful for a different moment: learning the rules versus creating the file.
Sections to include in a German CV
Start with name, professional title, city, phone and email. Add a short profile (two to four lines) targeted to the Stelle you are applying for.
List Berufserfahrung newest first with month/year ranges where helpful. Follow with Ausbildung, Sprachen with CEFR levels, and relevant skills or Zertifikate. Include a photo only if you choose to — many applications no longer require one.
Choosing a layout in the builder
Classic and European templates suit formal applications. Modern or Minimal work when the role is less conservative but still expects clarity.
Use the sidebar layout if you want contact details and languages grouped on the left, with experience on the right — a familiar pattern in German CVs.
Tailor each application
Change the professional title and profile to match the job title in the posting. Move the most relevant experience bullets to the top of each role description.
Keep one master CV in the builder, duplicate content mentally per application, and adjust wording before each export. Small tailoring beats sending an identical Lebenslauf to every company.
Export and send
Download a PDF and check that dates, umlauts and special characters render correctly. Name the file clearly: Nachname_Vorname_Lebenslauf.pdf is a common convention.
When the employer asks for Europass specifically, use the official Europass tools. Otherwise a clean modern Lebenslauf is often easier to read.
Frequently asked questions
Is this an official German government template?
No. Eventiors is an independent free CV builder. It helps you format a Lebenslauf; it is not an official government form.
Do I need a photo?
Not always. Include a professional photo only if it helps your application. Many employers accept CVs without one.
How is this different from your Lebenslauf guide?
The guide explains rules and context. This page helps you start from a template in the builder when you are ready to create the document.
Can I write the CV in German?
Yes. Type directly in German in any field. The builder does not translate for you — use wording that matches the job posting.
